The X in DFX (Design for Excellence) is merely a placeholder you can change for A (DFA – Design for Assembly), M ( DFM -Design for Manufacturing), or C (DFC -Design for Cost), etc…
It’s just a concept that exists to remind you that whatever you’re designing, keep the end goal in mind.
If you’re working on a product design that will go into manufacturing, you better take a DFM and DFA approach.
